Simple quantum feedback of a solid-state qubit

چکیده
We propose an experiment on quantum feedback control of a solid-state qubit, which is within the reach of the present-day technology. Similar to an earlier proposal fR. Ruskov and A. N. Korotkov, Phys. Rev. B 66, 041401sRd s2002dg, the feedback loop is used to maintain coherent oscillations in a qubit for an arbitrarily long time; however, this is done in a significantly simpler way, which eases the bandwidth problem. The main idea is to use the quadrature components of the noisy detector current to monitor approximately the phase of qubit oscillations. The price for simplicity is a less-than-ideal operation: the fidelity is limited to about 95%. The feedback loop operation can be experimentally verified by the appearance of a positive in-phase component of the detector current relative to an external oscillating signal used for synchronization.

Decoherence effects on quantum Fisher information of multi-qubit W states
Quantum fisher information of a parameter characterizing the sensitivity of a state with respect to parameter changes. In this paper, we study the quantum fisher information of the W state for four, five, six and seven particles in decoherence channels, such as amplitude damping, phase damping and depolarizing channel. Using Krauss operators for decoherence channels components, we investigate t...
متن کاملContinuous quantum feedback of coherent oscillations in a solid-state qubit
We have analyzed theoretically the operation of the Bayesian quantum feedback of a solid-state qubit, designed to maintain perfect coherent oscillations in the qubit for arbitrarily long time. In particular, we have studied the feedback efficiency in presence of dephasing environment and detector nonideality. Also, we have analyzed the effect of qubit parameter deviations and studied the quantu...

متن کاملNoisy quantum measurement of solid-state qubits: Bayesian approach
We discuss a recently developed formalism which describes the quantum evolution of a solid-state qubit due to its continuous measurement. In contrast to the conventional ensembleaveraged formalism, it takes into account the measurement record and therefore is able to consider individual realizations of the measurement process. The formalism provides testable experimental predictions and can be ...
متن کاملSelective quantum evolution of a qubit state due to continuous measurement
We consider a two-level quantum system ~qubit! that is continuously measured by a detector. The information provided by the detector is taken into account to describe the evolution during a particular realization of the measurement process. We discuss the Bayesian formalism for such ‘‘selective’’ evolution of an individual qubit and apply it to several solid-state setups. In particular, we show...
